Mission Peak Hike
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE SIGNING UP!
Join us for another Saturday adventure for the Mission Peak Hike
The hike is CHALLENGING (very hard) and will take 4 to 5 hours to complete (depending on the group's pace). Approx. The 2100 ft elevation gain and continuous upwards climb from the beginning make it a challenging hike. Please assess your physical fitness and ability to overcome the challenge before signing up.
At the time of publishing this event, we had two cars and seven open spots. If you want to bring a vehicle and can give rides to others, message us on WhatsApp. Also, add your name or car to the spreadsheet when you sign up (don't change someone else's entry—honor code).
What to Expect:
We will start from the Stanford Avenue Staging Area trailhead, hike to Mission Peak, and return to the start point from the other side of the loop.
Stunning views of the Bay Area from the summit.
An iconic summit pole and pictures with it at the summit.
About 2100 ft elevation gain in total.
The surface may be slippery and muddy at times since it will likely rain on Thursday and Friday.
No shade on the entire hike!
Some cute cows!
Gusts of wind at times.
Details:
Total distance: Approximately 6 miles
Duration: About 4–5 hours
Parking: Available near the entrance of trails; very likely to fill up quickly
Restrooms: Available at the trailhead
What to Bring: Plenty of water (organizers won't be able to support since there are no water sources and it's a long hike!), snacks, comfortable walking shoes with ankle support, sunscreen, wind cheater or extra layers, hiking sticks, hat or sunglasses, expect gusts of wind
Necessary: Bring an extra pair of shoes and a bag that can fit your hiking shoes so that you can wear the extra pair after the hike (not to soil the vehicles); a towel so that you can dry yourself and not wet the vehicle interiors after the hike; have great treads on your hiking shoes soles to be able to handle muddy surfaces OR hikeing poles
By signing up, you agree to the carpool policy: We share the cost of fuel, tolls, parking, and any other fees of all cars across the group. We believe that's the least we can do to assist the people bringing their vehicles to help us carpool.
Where to Meet:
For people traveling from SF, meet near the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero South road at 7:00 a.m. We’ll only wait five minutes for latecomers and will start promptly after that to stay on schedule. If you’re running late, let us know via our WhatsApp community, and we’ll help you join the group at the parking lot or on the trail.
We’ll finish the hike back at the starting point. Those interested can join us for an optional late lunch or meal in Fremont to relax and chat after the hike.
Cancellation policy: If you cancel less than 24 hours before the hike starts, we'll demote your registration to waitlist by default for the next three hikes.
