Classical Oil Painting Classes

​Whether you’re new to oil painting or looking to refine your skills, this class provides a comprehensive foundation in classical oil painting techniques. Over the course of 6 weeks, you’ll receive one-on-one instruction tailored to your individual needs, making it perfect for both beginners and seasoned artists.

​Guided by Carla Sanchez, you’ll start with the fundamentals by working on still life compositions, where you'll learn key concepts like composition, brushwork, and color theory. As you progress, the class invites you to explore various genres, including portraiture, landscape, plein air, animals, figure, or floral painting.

​Most students find the structure and depth of this class so enriching that they continue through multiple sessions to further develop their skills. The minimum sign-up is 6 weeks (1 block), but many choose to take this class for several blocks or on an ongoing basis. if you cannot make all 6 classes, there are options for make up days on request.
