Holiday Improv Musical Show – Friday After Labor Day Hour at Baltimore Improv Group
What do collective action, unions, and labor disputes have in common? They’re musicals!
$10 Tickets: https://www.bigimprov.org/event-details-registration/labor-day-musical
Our next improvised musical hour takes on worker unrest, in the spirit of the workers' revolt in Hairspray and the newsboys standing up for fair wages in Newsies. From the revolution in Les Misérables to Urinetown's corporate control, and Ragtime's exploration of social mobility.
On the Friday after Labor Day, take collective action with an hour of music and improv at Baltimore Improv Group (BIG).
Work might suck, so we might as well sing and dance about it!
Celebrate workers and their accomplishments because that's what Labor Day in the United States was created for: reminding us that working together make a big difference.
First, kick things off with quick-witted musical improv games centered around work-related themes.
Then, enjoy a fully improvised musical where your audience stories take the stage as a full workplace fairy tale through improvised songs.
We’re asking for your tales of mentorship, bosses and employees, job satisfaction and discontent, and favorite worst coworkers.
See your stories turn into a lively musical featuring career twists and camaraderie found in shared struggles as delightful characters break out into Broadway-style songs.
Witness a mix of emerging and familiar citizens unite in honor of the American Labor Movement.
Your 7pm ticket also includes the 8pm and 9pm improv shows.
Tickets: $10 at the door
Parking: $3 at the garage across the street. Just say you're going to the theater!
