PLEASE NOTE: This is a self-funded Distinguished Awards. While nominees are not required to pay any fee to attend the Awards Ceremony, each nominee is required to cover her/his own travel costs.

LWA Future is Female Awards
Women are increasingly becoming aware of the significant role they owe to play in contributing in the process of creating sustainable living conditions for all. While claiming their rightful place in the society, women are making every effort to engage with all stakeholders at public and private sectors in order to forge their own space as integral role-players in the socio-economic development of Africa. They seek to be at the forefront of driving economic growth on the continent and take advantage of available and emerging opportunities. While being fully aware that this is a lengthy process, they are however, confident that the hard work on their part accompanied by dedicated political will from decision makers, can make this process possible.
The Future is Female Women’s Awards are designed to create awareness and showcase the role of women as change agents on the continent. The Awards will celebrate women who are displaying tenacity and making invaluable contribution to the advancement of women and Africa’s socio-economic growth through collaborative efforts.
Men Champions Awards
Endorsed by the late Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and Patron of LWA, the LWA Men Champions Awards was launched in 2015 as a distinguished and prestigious annual awards ceremony in recognition of outstanding male leaders who are playing a significant role in unlocking the potential and the acknowledgement of women as equal partners in the sustainable socio-economic development process.

The Future is Female and Champions Awards are a unique gender mainstreaming concept endorsed by: African heads of states, South African Government and gender machinery bodies in Africa.
They are distinguished and prestigious Awards in recognition of men and women who have displayed a significant will to promote women’s development.

Please note that these Awards are not for sale but there are awarded by merit after a rigorous adjudication process by credible judges around the continent.
ELIGIBILITY
Be an African (registered citizen of any African country)
Is a male/ female leader that showed the required impact referred to in the category nominated of promoting females through an organisation (structured, accountable and verifiable).
For male nominees: Nominated by a group of women from the same institution but not family related (minimum three) or individual independent female beneficiaries. None of the women may be related (family) to the nominee.
For female nominees: Any three unrelated individuals or an institution.
Terms & Conditions
Nominees must be an African citizen from any African country and the Diaspora.
For male nominees: Nominated by a group of women from the same institution but not family related (minimum three) or individual independent female beneficiaries. None of the women may be related (family) to the nominee.

There is no cost to submit a nomination
Entries may be made for more than one category, provided that a separate entry (motivation letter and supporting documentation is provided for each category).
An independent judging panel made up of experts from various sectors will assess the entries. Nominations will be judged on how well they meet the published criteria for each category and not judged against each other. Judges look for clear and concise applications; examples may be used to demonstrate how the nominee meets the criteria of the category.
The judges may decide, on their sole discretion, not to award a winner in a specific category.
The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence regarding judging and the making of the Awards will be entered into.
No sponsor is eligible to enter the awards. Should sponsorship take place post nominations this will result in immediate withdrawal of the company and/or individuals entry.
Entrants must also be prepared to meet and be interviewed by members of the media.
No one employed as an independent contractor by LWA and partners is eligible for entry.
No one acting as an Award judge is eligible to enter, or to judge the entry of a company or department he or she may be employed by in any capacity.
At the conclusion of the Awards, all copies of submissions will be destroyed and therefore not returned. Nominators are therefore advised to keep copies of submissions, supporting documentation and other attachments. Information provided by nominators will be confidential to the judging panel, members of its research department and the Award judges.
No information provided will be released by LWA to any other party whatsoever without the express written consent of the entrant.
By filling in the nomination form provided and submitting it to LWA, nominators are thereby warranting that all information supplied is correct to the best of their knowledge and agree to be contacted for final phase auditing and related publishing purposes.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All the information contained in this document will be treated as confidential. No information will be released or used for any purpose other than the evaluation process and Awards ceremony (for finalists) without the express consent of the nominator.
NOMINATOR DECLARATION
The nominator(s) should declare that to the best of their knowledge, all the information supplied is correct. They must have included all of the required information and understand that the entry will be returned to me should something be incomplete. They must declare that they understand that the judges’ decision is final and binding and that no correspondence will be entered into. They must agree to the terms and conditions.
