This will be an improvisation-based event. As a potential music therapist, Zilu (she/her) explores different practices to combine recreational fields with health and well-being awareness. Starting with listening, knowing, and trusting our bodies, Zilu will briefly introduce Alexander Technique and Deep Listening. They are two mind-body techniques that you can bring it into your daily life and help you free your physical discomfort and mental overwhelm. For example, take a deep breath while noticing the space above your head and behind your back. Allowing your breath to expand and contact the surroundings can flatten your stress.

At the second part of the activity, Zilu will lead a mini improv (acting) workshop. As a lover of improv, she found joy and inspiration in different improv games over and over again. This is a time for play, trust, rest, laugh, try, celebrate mistakes, and re-find yourself. We will play a variety of improv games and meet some new friends in laughters. There is no previous experience of anything required for this workshop. The games will mainly be facilitated in Chinese but can adapted to English too.

Our special guests for this workshop are Nany (she/her) and Jiayao (she/her), two graduate students from the School of Visual Arts majoring in Design for Social Innovation. They prepare Body Mapping/Emotion Mapping activities to provide opportunities for visualizing physical and emotional feelings. At the beginning of the workshop, they will guide participants in drawing their current physical/emotional state on a blank outline sheet of the human body. After experiencing Alexander Techniques and Deep Listening practices, the participants will draw it again and compare the differences or thoughts. Through these activities, we will be able to visualize and communicate our discomforts and document subtle changes in our body or mind.

这是一个两个小时的即兴体验,分为觉知身体当下的反应和即兴游戏体验。做这个工作坊的契机是紫璐在即兴方法音乐治疗的实习中学到很多关于“如何与人相遇”的方法,而最初的一步总是要先回到自己双脚站立的地方,以及回到“此刻”,才能更好地听见对方;又注意到身边朋友和自己都有腰疼的症状,而且总在入睡前躺平时才发觉脊椎的嘶喊,有没有什么办法能让我们在日常生活中也可以预防或拥抱疼痛与不适呢?这个工作坊就让我们分享与尝试不同的方法!

前一个小时会由紫璐来简单介绍她的专业(音乐治疗)与她感兴趣的身心结合练习,包括亚历山大方法(Alexander Technique)与深度聆听(Deep Listening),亚历山大方法是由一位英国演员所建立的训练方法,通过聆听与观察身体,让我们从行为与思考习惯中解放出来,恢复我们本身的活力与自由;深度聆听则是由美国先锋作曲家Pauline Oliveros与她的伴侣IONE在越南战争之后的时期所创造,结合了西方对于声音的讨论以及东方太极、气功等身体哲学,通过聆听、动作、梦境的形态(modality)来探索全身心聆听的可能。这两种方法或许可以帮助我们缓解腰痛,同时也可以使我们的精神得到放松与伸展,我们邀请你来一起尝试!

后半部分是即兴游戏的体验,在即兴中我们与人建立连接和信任、一起大笑,在共同创造场景的同时,也在共同造梦。即兴表演在1950年代由美国戏剧教育家Viola Spolin和英国戏剧导演Keith Johnstone创建,与最早的古罗马与意大利的使用即兴手法的喜剧表演不同,更像是一种游戏和完全没有剧本的冒险。这次我们将一起玩儿几个即兴游戏,无需任何表演经验,我们只需要相信队友和庆祝错误!

并且本次工作坊特别邀请了Nany和Jiayao带来Body Mapping/Emotion Mapping的活动。Nany 和 Jiayao 都来自sva 的社会设计专业(design for social Innovation) ,她们希望通过绘画的方式,引导参与者将情绪与身体的感受具象化。

在workshop开始时,参与者将收到一张空白的人体轮廓图。参与者会被邀请以绘画的方式记录下当下身体的感受。而在体验亚历山大方法和深度聆听后,参与者将绘制第二张身体地图。参与者会被邀请讨论前后的变化。以跨越情绪表达障碍的方式,将身心问题可视化,并记录改变。
