The Fuenfría valley is part of the Sierra de Guadarrama, a mountian range belonging to the Central system. This valley is oriented from north to south and the slope of its waters is oriented to the south. It has an approximate length of 6 km and an average width of 2.5 km. The lowest part of the valley is at 1200 meters and the peaks are over 2000 meters high.
Ordered from south to north, the mountains belonging to the western slope of the valley are the following: La Peñota (1945 m), Peña del Águila (2011 m), Peña Bercial (2002 m) and Cerro Minguete (2026 m). At the northern end of the valley is the Fuenfría Pass (1793 m), located on the border between the provinces of Madrid and Segovia. The Fuenfría Roman road, built in the 1st century A.D., passes through this mountain pass. On the eastern slope of the valley are Cerro Ventoso (1949 m), Pico Majalasna (1933 m) and the westernmost peak of the main ridge of Siete Picos (2138 m).
We will climb up all (8) the aforementioned summits. And may include Montón de Trigo as well if the pace of the group is good enough.
