About Event

This workshop is hosted by Dan Andrews, UX Academy alum and mentor.

Workshop facilitation is a useful skill to have in your locker, one which designers use regularly and is becoming increasingly more important. Dan will teach you some of the basics in less than one week, and most importantly, you will get to practice.

As a designer, you will be talking to a LOT of people. Your conversations might include presentations, gaining insights for research, or soliciting feedback on your work.

Working and collaborating with non-design colleagues also means there will be a lot of opinions and questions which can sometimes lead the conversation down an unintended path which can end up taking up valuable time and walking away feeling like the meeting unproductive.

It's important to know how to direct and manage a conversation so you can walk away with insights and actionable next steps.

Over the course of three sessions (90 mins each), you will:

  • Learn tips and tricks for designing, hosting and facilitating remote workshops in Figjam.

  • Create a workshop in a group and practice your facilitation skills

Session Breakdown

  • Session 1: Intro and theory, group activity

  • Session 2: Group activity

  • Session 3: Demo day and feedback
