About Event

Join Melinda for a nurture call in which you’ll have a chance to share your current boundary challenges/wins and participate in a small-group discussion with activities around one of Molly’s cartoons.

This month’s cartoon focuses on the role of discomfort in growth. As we find our boundaries and discover our empowered center, we are often awakened to some changes that need to be made in our lives. After all, before we had boundaries, we’d usually been living based on what everyone else told us to do, making our choices based on their happiness or approval and not our own.

While many aspects of empowered growth feel liberating, there is another side to our empowered growth...and it does NOT usually feel so good. We may start discovering things taking up space in our lives that we don’t actually want or like.

These might be things we’ve maybe been putting up with or tolerating only because we didn’t yet have boundaries (so we didn’t know we had a choice!) But now that we do have boundaries, we may have some difficult decisions to make.

This is your reminder that while growth is overall a wonderful experience, it doesn’t mean every single moment feels wonderful. It’s normal to experience emotional discomfort at times while shifting into a new level of growth.

And all discomfort is not bad. The growth process can be partly a grief process, too. It’s okay to feel sorrow when we say goodbye to things that no longer serve us. It’s okay to grieve a little as we make the needed decisions that will lead us closer to our desired future.
