June 2023: Platform Engineering Workshop
What
IrregEx invests exclusively in picks-and-shovels for engineering teams, both because we're firm believers in the category, and because of the unique DNA makeup of our investors, who are mostly operating engineering leaders, and thus represent the ideal customer profile for most of those tools.
Naturally, managing the inherent complexity associated with running a modern tech stack at scale is an on-going area of focus for them, so we thought it'd be particularly relevant to bring together a few relevant founders building in that space, with some of the CTOs and VPs of Eng backing us, for everyone to compare notes on current best practices, best tooling, etc.
Format:
First, rapid-fire presentations from founders - cap presentations at 7 minutes please
Followed by breakout room discussions/q&a with founders and operators
Since the presentations are short, we're encouraging founders to pick a focused question to address. We have a few example questions or you can pick your own:
What's the biggest engineering paradigm holding back dev orgs, or to flip it around, what's a paradigm you believe dev leaders need to be adopting? What's your approach to solving this?
Why does software complexity continue to creep up? Is this inevitable? Do you have an approach that can alleviate developer pain?
What role do you believe the generative AI will have in this space? What capabilities are you building based on that belief?
