AFROPOLITAN X NEAR PROTOCOLS X NSBE WORKSHOP
Afropolitan, Near and UofT’s National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) are hosting a careers workshop. Engineers from companies such as Atila, Wealthsimple, Shopify and Oliver Wyman will share their career journey, personally review your Resume, LinkedIn and Github profile. An Afropolitan x Near project will be shown as an example to show how you can talk about your technical projects in your resume, portfolio and interviews.
During this workshop, students will learn essential career skills such as:
Have your resume, LinkedIn and Github personally reviewed by engineers who have worked at companies like Wealthsimple, Shopify, RBC, Oliver Wyman
1-1 sessions with engineers and consultants who have worked at companies like Safe, Wealthsimple and Shopify
Live walkthrough of a real-life resume review and case study of a coding project built with Afropolitan and Near and how to talk about it in your resume and Github and LinkedIn

6:00-6:15: Introductions and career stories
6:15-6:30: Learn principles of a good resume, LinkedIn and Github portfolio
6:30-6:45: Explore an example of a good resume, LinkedIn and Github based on an Afropolitan x NEAR project
6:45-7:45: Do a personalized live review of your resume, Github and LinkedIn
7:45-8:00: Conclusion and Q&A
