momentum s3 kickoff: Sep 22
Come to momentum this term to work on passion projects (literally anything you want), surrounded by builders, creators, researchers, artists, bloggers, inventors, and more at Western University. This session will be a little bit different: we want to spend some time going through what momentum is, as well as help you meet some friends & accountability partners.
Who
Anyone who has a passion project to work on! You're welcome even if you don't consider yourself a "creator" or aren't sure what you'll be working on yet.
What
The project you're working on can be anything — something you want to code, design, write, or build with your own two hands. Just make sure it's something you're genuinely excited about outside of university societies and degree work.
We run two pomodoro sessions with a break in the middle and do demos of what people have been working on towards the end. We'll be starting the pomodoros at 12:45 to allow for a quick presentation & socializing at the start. More heads-down working sessions to come.
Why
The vibes are sure to be immaculate, so hopefully you'll make friends with other fun and interesting people
It's a fun, productive environment to stop procrastinating over your passion project
It's a great way to beat the academic blues
Where
On Western campus. Register to find out!
Come between 12:00-12:15 pm, hosts will be there earlier. Hard start at 12:15.
PLEASE come on time! If you're leave and it's quiet, please take a seat and don't be disruptive.
Ground Rules
Act like a host: include people in conversations, talk to people even if they're strangers, offer to help out and clean up.
Most importantly, don't come to just network! If you're only here to network we will be very sad. 😔
Try not to just ask people about their courses — talk about your interests outside of academics!
