FEMPOWERMENT: East Anglia Games Industry Networking Mixer
#RaiseTheGame, Norwich University of the Arts and Fairer Games would love to invite you to our networking mixer event. The theme is all about looking at how women are becoming more empowered in the games industry, and how we can amplify those efforts further to make the video game industry stronger, accessible and more inclusive for everyone.
The evening will feature a panel discussion made up of game industry professionals and academics from across the ecosystem who each will have their own experiences to share and perspectives to speak about around women empowerment. We will also exhibiting a range of games at the event from women led studios and local developers in the East Anglia county that attendees will be able to play during the networking portions of the event.
The event will conclude with food and further chance for people to connect with one another through networking and/or playing games.
Agenda for event:
Doors Open & Welcome In Guests – 5pm
Free drinks available upon arrival.
Network with other guests and check out the games being exhibited at the event.
Speech & Panel – 5:30pm
A quick speech to welcome and thank everyone for coming, that leads into the main panel discussion.
Networking – Between 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Panel concludes, allowing guests to chat to panellists and continue networking alongside checking out exhibiting games.
End – 8pm

How do I get to the venue?
The Duke Street Riverside building is on Duke Street which is a 15min walk from Norwich Bus Station and a 20min walk from Norwich Train Station. We have done a video to help people navigate the walk which you can check out here!
There are busses from around the city to Castle Meadow which is a short 7min walk to Duke Street Riverside.
There is a layby where taxis can easily stop, or you can alternatively get a taxi to the Premier Inn opposite and walk across the road.
The closest car park is St. Andrews Multi-Storey Car Park (Car parks - St Andrews multi-storey car park, NR3 3AJ | Norwich City Council) which is a short 1 min walk from Duke Street Riverside.
Are there accessibility considerations in place at the event?
Yes, Norwich University of the Arts' Duke Street Riverside building is a wheelchair friendly, accessible venue with ramp access, automatic doors, and lifts inside.
Will there be free drinks and food on offer at the event?
Yes, we will be serving a range of pizzas to satisfy different taste buds and dietary requirements. There will be a range of beverages available to attendees at the event.
Are students, freelancers and those not working in the games industry welcome to the event?
Absolutely, all of the organisations involved strive to ensure our events are inclusive, impactful and welcome people from different backgrounds to attend by creating safe environments for people to network, be inspired and have fun.
Will the event have a Code Of Conduct or similar guidelines in place?
Yes, #RaiseTheGame has a Code Of Conduct in place for all our events. We will be sending those that sign-up a copy of the Code Of Conduct we use to view closer to the time. However, if you like a copy sooner, please get in touch!
