GSC Hackathon is a dynamic 2-day event hosted by the Global Startup Center that brings together aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and problem-solvers to collaborate, build, and pitch startup ideas.
Who can join?
This hackathon is open to all foreigners in South Korea! Whether you're a developer, an aspiring entrepreneur, a creative designer, or just someone with a passion for innovation, you're welcome to join. If you’re ready to turn ideas into real solutions, connect with like-minded people, and have fun, this is the event for you!
Choose your role
To ensure a collaborative and fun experience, all participants will select a role when joining the hackathon. But don’t worry, you don’t have to be an expert - just pick the one that aligns most with your strengths or interests.
💻 Developer: Focus on coding and
building the technical side of the project. Your role will help bring the idea to life.
🎨 Designer: Work on the look and feel of the project, including design and user experience, making it both functional and appealing.
🧠 Business Strategist: Think about how the idea can work in real life, analyze market potential, develop strategies, and pitch the idea.

FAQ
1. What do I need to bring?
Bring your laptop, charger, and any tools you’ll need for your role. We’ll provide food, drinks, and a workspace
2. What if I don’t have an idea?
No problem! You can join another participant’s idea during the team formation session.
3. Is the Hackathon conducted in English or Korean?
The whole program is conducted in English!
4. Is accommodation provided?
Unfortunately, accommodation is not provided. However, there are affordable options like saunas (jjimjilbangs) where you can stay overnight. If you need help finding accommodation nearby, let us know, and we’ll assist you!
5.How does the security deposit process work?
∙ To secure your spot, you must first be accepted into the hackathon by the event organizers.
∙ Once accepted, you will receive payment instructions to submit your security deposit by the given deadline.
∙ Only after the deposit is received will your participation be confirmed. If you send a deposit without being accepted, it will be refunded.
