Guest Speaker: Meika Ellis
Meika Ellis specializes in trademark and copyright prosecution and litigation at Smart & Biggar LP. She collaborates with Indigenous communities to protect Indigenous Knowledge and Cultural Expressions. A graduate of the University of Ottawa’s Common Law program, Meika has worked on law and technology projects and researched IP and access to knowledge in Africa. As a member of the Gwich'in Fort McPherson Band, she is dedicated to serving Indigenous communities.
