Dr. Filidei will cover each of the markers of the mycotoxin test and will expand on the correlation between gut health, colonization of mold in the body, oxidative stress and more. Dr Filidei will also introduce the importance of testing for mycotoxins using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) technology as this state-of-the-art method allows Great Plains to detect mycotoxins even in small quantities analyzing parts per trillion.
Mycotoxins and mold are linked to multiple conditions going from Parkinson’s, MS, Alzheimers, Lyme and other chronic conditions. Treating mold and testing for mycotoxins is an essential tool for any practitioner wishing to practice functional medicine as this test will provide a detailed and personalized assessment of mold in a patient’s body and would identify the source of contamination and, in conjunction with the Organic Acid Test, it can confirm or rule out the existence of colonization of mold in the body.

Dr. Mark Filidei is an Internal Medicine physician who completed training in General Internal Medicine at Brown University. He is the Director of Integrative Medicine for the Amen Clinics.
