​There are gatherings that fill calendars, and then there are the ones that fill something quieter—the need to slow down, to share a meal, to be around people who make space feel easy.

​This isn’t a networking event. It’s not about exchanging cards or building connections in the formal sense. It’s about something simpler and, perhaps, more meaningful. Just a handful of us coming together for an evening—no stage, no spotlight, no expectations. Only food, conversation, and a sense of presence that’s often hard to come by.

​We’ll be sharing a meal from Sun Nong Dan—one of those beloved Los Angeles institutions where the food is as rich in tradition as it is in flavor. You’ve likely been there with visiting family, or sent someone there when they asked where to go. This time, though, we’re not in the restaurant. We’re gathering at one of our homes—because the best meals don’t always need the bustle of the city around them. Sometimes, all they need is a table, a few people, and a little time.

​Expect nothing grand—just good food, shared freely, and the kind of conversations that don’t have to go anywhere in particular. The kind that wander, that make room for laughter, for pausing, for feeling unhurried in each other’s company.
