About Event

In this practical workshop, participants will dive into NixOS and home-manager. We'll start with an introduction to Nix concepts, then guide users through translating a sample setup.sh installation script into a NixOS configuration. Attendees will learn to simplify their system setup using NixOS's declarative approach. The workshop will also cover using standalone home-manager for managing user-specific configurations, ensuring a non-intrusive and portable solution for personal environments. By the end, participants will have the skills to set up, customize, and maintain a NixOS system with personalized user configs.
