Happily Ever After. Rethinking a Fairytale
This August, a group of young artists and curators invite you to explore an evocative artist-led exhibition Happily Ever After. Rethinking a Fairytale, featuring works by 20 international artists. Opening on 1 August 2024, it reacquaints the audience with beloved old stories.
The concept aims to connect people of all ages and cultures through familiar stories. By bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds, the exhibition not only showcases aesthetic excellence but also promotes cultural exchange and mutual understanding. It highlights the rich lessons found in children's fairy tales and reflects on their meanings from an adult perspective.
The group show includes works in various techniques, including painting, photography, sculpture, digital art, and other formats.
Highlights include artworks by internationally acclaimed Azeri artist Aidan Salakhova, London-based figurative painter Lindsey Jean McLean, globally exhibited sculptor Katia Kesic, and multidisciplinary artist Natasha Arendt, among others.
Special events include a performance-ritual by Jenya Stashkov and Kristina Baeva, artists and performers based in London, on the opening night, as well as artist-led workshops throughout the exhibition. Each session is designed to awaken the audience's creativity, explore their subconscious, and enhance their storytelling abilities through metaphor magic cards, collage techniques, and more.
