Ai Salon: Spirituality and Religion
Intelligence and spirituality seem to be opposite ends of experience, and over the last hundred years western society has seemed to gravitate entirely towards intelligence as the means of understanding and knowing the world. Spirituality to a large extent is dead, at least among the technology community, and is relegated to the role of 'superstition' without firm grounding in science.
This Salon will explore in-depth whether spirituality still has role to play in our lives in the age of machine intelligence, as well as the emerging narrative around the birth of AGI / ASI as the creation of 'God.' Will we rediscover humanity's spiritual roots that grounded civilization for so many thousands of years in defiance of the rise of machine intelligence, or will people turn to worship the ultimate creation of science and technology - the god in the machine?
