Summer Capstone Engineering Fair

​A Celebration of NYC’s Emerging Tech Talent

On Thursday, August 7, The Marcy Lab School is pleased to invite our community of stakeholders and supporters to our Brooklyn campus for the Summer Capstone Engineering Fair, an exclusive event designed for employers, supporters, and partners looking to connect with the next generation of Software Engineering talent.

​Over the course of nine weeks, our 2024–25 Software Engineering Fellows have built full-stack web applications as part of their Capstone Apprenticeship. Now, they're ready to present their work!

​What to Expect:

• ​Fellow Showcase: Meet our Fellows one-on-one as they demo their applications and share the stories behind their builds.

• ​Next-Gen Talent: Explore the technical, personal, and professional growth our Fellows have achieved after a year of immersive learning in the Fellowship.

• ​Dynamic Networking: During our opening reception, mix and mingle with partners and supporters while also getting a window into the lived experiences and future aspirations of our incredible Fellows.

​About Capstone at The Marcy Lab School

​For the final nine weeks of the Software Engineering Fellowship, Fellows who engage in Capstone hone their ability to learn new technologies, sharpen their professional skills as they prepare for their first full-time roles in tech, and build portfolio-worthy full-stack applications based on the learnings of an entire year of study.

​This intensive end to the Fellowship aims to directly prepare our Fellows for life on the job—stretching them both technically and personally—and provides them the space to sharpen critical skills such as autodidactic learning, research, technical writing, and end-to-end development.
