βABOUT BROOKLYN WALK CLUB: We are a few friends who enjoy going on walks, moving our bodies, and connecting with good people. Walks often serve as a connecting point for others to get together. We decided to create a space where you can show up and do exactly thatβestablish a routine, implement something new, explore cool places, have great conversations, and meet some really wonderful people.
βπ We are starting this for two reasons: health and community. The reality is that run clubs are incredible, but they have a high barrier to entry, which unfortunately means not everyone can participate. We love all the social and health benefits of run clubs, but with the Brooklyn Walk Club, we are simplifying things and creating simple experiences for you to connect with yourself and others.
βπWe are keen to see what this can evolve into! All are welcome here. There is no barrier to entry. Come for the walk, stay for a good time.
βABOUT YOUR HOSTS:
βEmily has lived in Williamsburg for 5+ years and is the founder of @journalingclasses. Her life work and passion is building community and holding creative spaces for herself and others to show up in β most of her time is spent floating around the neighborhood with friends, hanging in Mccarren Park or sharing table pancakes at the diner.
Chai moved to NY last year after spending close to a decade in Venice Beach. He wants his life to be a collection of ongoing βprojectsβ with his friends and family with the last few years being about health, travel, work and hospitality. The theme for this year is movement. Currently he is very inspired by NY and its people and is excited to plant himself here and start contributing to it.
We want BWC to become a place where all of us can connect with other like minded people while also putting our bodies in motion. We love run clubs but wanted to create a similar social opportunity that doesnβt have the barrier to entry of having to be a runner but still moves us towards a healthier lifestyle. Walking enables us to see cool places, get our steps in, and have intentional conversations with our peers as we go from point A to point B. We have A LOT of cool ideas that we are keen to bring to life with Brooklyn Walk Club and are excited to really get this thing going. We are stoked to have you be part of it.
βSee you so soon!
βWith love,
βEmily & Chai
