Miranda Michalski is a Software Quality Analyst with over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, spanning healthcare data systems, ed-tech, and consulting. Since beginning her accessibility journey in 2015, she has focused on testing web and mobile applications to ensure they meet inclusive and accessible standards.

Her background includes five years in Service Operations, further informing her thoughtful, user-centered approach to quality assurance. In 2023, Miranda joined Atomic Object, where she not only tests digital products for accessibility but also supports and educates teams on best practices for creating inclusive software. As the host of today’s panel, she brings a wealth of practical experience and a deep commitment to digital accessibility.

Ryan Heisler (he/him) is a Software Developer and Consultant on a mission to raise the bar of digital accessibility among his software teams. Since March 2022, he has held a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals. Since then, he has taught clients and colleagues the principles of digital accessibility and introduced tools like assistive devices to their software development processes.

He volunteers his software development skills to the Washtenaw ID Project to help make goods and services that require ID more easily accessible to residents of Washtenaw County. In his spare time, you can find him writing about the practicalities of building accessible web interfaces on his blog and cultivating his backyard vegetable garden.

Jennifer Carr is a UX designer and developer. Through years of self-taught freelancing, she gained exposure to accessibility very early on in her career, culminating in work for a client selling assistive equipment to the blind, requiring an entirely accessible e-commerce website.

Later, she worked in ed-tech, where she and the web design/development team were tasked with battling technical debt to retrofit a suite of products to be accessible. Now, as a consultant and designer at Atomic Object, she still pushes for accessible design and proper HTML/CSS standards to help get things right the first time.

Mario Ball is an accessibility QA specialist with 16 years’ experience: 10 years at Kurzweil and six at Learning A-Z. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Curry College and lives in Milan, MI. Mario advocates for accessibility advances in technology for Learning A-Z’s students and teachers. He is passionate about accessibility on all projects to ensure everyone can utilize Learning A-Z’s products. Mario co-presented "Learning A-Z: A Case Study of Our Accessibility Journey" at Deque's AxeCon 2022.

Kealy Williams is a software developer and consultant with two decades of experience building reliable, user-centered software across industries including biosciences, finance, logistics, and education. She was part of the first Computer Engineering cohort at Michigan Tech and quickly discovered her passion for pairing, test-driven development, and teaching others.

As today’s panel facilitator, Kealy brings a deep commitment to Agile practices, inclusive collaboration, and helping teams build valuable, accessible software. At Atomic Object, she leads with transparency and a belief that successful projects start with strong, supportive teams.
