VanRuby: Lightning Talks
Join us for a series of lightning talks where community members will share quick, insightful presentations on their favourite tools, tips, and projects. It’s a great chance to learn something new and connect with fellow Rubyists!
About lightning talks:
Do you have something you want to talk about? Bring your 5-10 minute talk and present it to the community.
Key components of a lightning talk:
Clear, focused topic – Stick to one main idea or takeaway.
Strong opening – Grab attention quickly with a hook or question.
Concise content – Keep it tight; avoid going too deep or off-topic.
Practical insight or takeaway – Share something useful, interesting, or inspiring.
Minimal slides (if any) – Use simple visuals to support, not distract.
Personal touch – Share your experience, challenge, or enthusiasm.
Call to action or closing thought – End with a question, tip, or invitation to connect.
Stick to time limit – Respect the clock—5 minutes goes fast!
Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of skill level or background.
