WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The workshop is open to graduate students and postdocs interested in hands-on development of science communications skills. It is perfect for emerging leaders in science, especially those interested in all forms of media, community outreach, knowledge transfer and policy. Previous experience in and a demonstrable commitment to communicating science is preferred.

Includes tuition, five nights accommodation and all meals
Does not include transportation to and from the Barrier Lake Field Station

ACCOMMODATION
All rooms are double occupancy. Accommodation requests for room sharing will be supported wherever possible. Unfortunately, the research station does not allow single room requests, even at an additional cost, due to the demand on rooms in the summer months.
TRAVEL INFO
The Barrier Lake Field Station is a one-hour drive from Calgary International Airport. A shuttle service can be coordinated from the airport, with pick-ups in Calgary, to the Barrier Lake Field Station for an additional cost. NOTE: A 6-person Uber costs several hundred dollars during peak periods (approx $50 per person).
HOW TO REGISTER
Registration opens in late January. This program is being offered on a first come first serve basis for qualified candidates. There are 20 spots available.

A deposit of $1,000 will secure your spot.
Final payment is due on May 31, 2025.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
Registration is non-refundable. However, if you are unable to attend, you are welcome to find a qualified replacement prior to the start of the course.
