About Our Speakers

Taylor Marcus - Head of BD, Berkeley SkyDeck

Taylor Marcus leads Business Development at Berkeley SkyDeck, helping the leading accelerator and incubator connect with various partners to meet their unique goals. Previously, Taylor worked at Google and YouTube for 15+ years on various new business endeavors and product launches. Notably, Taylor was a founding member of the YouTube Kids team. Most recently, Taylor was a founding member of a consumer AI startup. Taylor earned her BA at Columbia University and her MBA at Berkeley Haas.

Sanjay Velappan - Investor, Berkeley SkyDeck

Sanjay is an investor with the Berkeley SkyDeck Fund. Before joining the SkyDeck Fund, he spent ~2 years at Foundation Capital (FC) as an Associate (focused primarily on Enterprise SaaS solutions) and a little over 4 years as a consultant at Simon-Kucher & Partners (SKP) where he specialized in pricing & packaging solutions for software companies. He completed his MBA at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and got his BBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

Your Host: Natalie Riso, Raise at Mercury

​Natalie Riso is a prolific marketer, operator, and thought leader at the intersection of impact, startups, and personal branding. She currently runs founder success programs and builds founder tools at Mercury under the Mercury Raise umbrella.

​Natalie previously led content marketing and partnerships at LTSE and 500 Global VC. She also made a name for herself in the world of online content, and in 2015, she was the youngest recipient of Linkedin's Top Voice award, going on to cultivate an audience of over 380K around entrepreneurship, social impact, and leadership. Natalie has been featured for her marketing work in Inc., AdWeek, Vice, Cosmopolitan, and more.
