About Event

Get an inside perspective on Stanford’s Graduate School of Business with two Stanford GSB alumni (Missy P. & Ben L., both Class of ‘21) who’ve gone on to start their own businesses after graduation.

As experienced MBA coaches, they’ve also developed a nuanced understanding on how to land you a place at the world’s most sought-after business school. During this session, Ben & Missy will offer their advice on how to stand out, craft your narrative, and build a holistic application for the MBA admissions process.

Ben and Missy can offer targeted advice on essays, recommendations, resumes, interview prep and more. Join this free event to ask whatever questions you have, and potentially pair up with one of them for longer-term coaching together. If you’re considering applying either for the traditional or deferred MBA, this session is one you won’t want to miss.

Background (Ben): Ben started at McKinsey and later joined the Chicago Mayor’s Office doing economic development policy prior to Stanford GSB. While at Stanford, he started his own practice (Elevate Advisory), working with startup CEOs of varying stages, PE shops and VCs. Today he’s based in NYC, building a chess coaching marketplace (townsquarechess.com) while continuing his coaching and advisory work in tandem. Ben earned his undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis, where he majored in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology and Economics.

Background (Missy): Missy started at Mckinsey, with a focus on healthcare work in the US and abroad. She spent a year in the US Health Policy Reform Center focused on behavioral health and social determinants. While at Stanford she started Beaming Health, the marketplace for disability care. To-date, Beaming has helped over 700K+ families find great care for their kids and continues to grow. Missy earned a BS in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Georgia Tech where she was a Stamps Presidential Scholar.
