About Event

Join us for our very first Printmaking workshop, in collaboration with Alannah Sears, a multi-media artist who works in printmaking and textiles.

During this all-gender workshop, participants have the opportunity to create unique monoprints under Sears's expert instruction. And since this workshop coincides with Earth Day, we will be making art inspired by Mama Earth :)

This event has limited availability with an admission fee beginning at $10. Your attendance fee covers the cost of one plexiglass sheet, ink, printmaking paper and accompanying supplies.

Since space is limited, you must RSVP to secure your spot here and Venmo us at @motherofpearl_collective with the description "Mama Earth".

We hope to see you there :)

—

Alannah Sears (b. 1997, New York, NY) earned her BFA from SUNY Purchase (2019) where she fell in love with printmaking and textiles. Alannah’s work explores identity, chosen family, and the contrast of evolving environment and emotions; all centered around comfort and authentic expression. Color, pattern, and texture aids Alannah in creating multidimensional pieces that reflect the complexity and deepness of oneself. Alannah’s creative process is a labor of love, often taking hours of intense waves of concentration. Continuing to live and work in Washington Heights, NY, Alannah continues to push herself, expanding her understanding of beauty, family, social dynamics, and relationships with surroundings. Alannah has been included in group shows in NOMAA, the Joan Mitchell Foundation, and have participated in residencies with the Joan Mitchell Center, (New Orleans, 2017), the Joan Mitchell Foundation (New York, 2019), and Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, Vermont 2023)
