Dive into a modernist mood with exceptional expert’s insight into Malevych life & legacy presented by Tetyana Filevska, taste a signature Flat red coffee with pomegranate born in Kyiv and served by award winning barista Vadym Granovsky, have some drinks and let yourself immerse into an avant-garde creative vibes!
Kazymyr Malevych is one of the most outstanding artists of the 20th century, who was born in Kyiv. His life and art are largely connected with the city: he studied at Mykola Murashko's Kyiv School of Drawing, worked as a professor at the Kyiv Art Institute, and was active in the Kyiv artistic community. It was in Kyiv that the last lifetime exhibition was held - in the Kyiv Art Gallery in 1930. The lecture will focus on the links Malevych had with the city of Kyiv.
About the lecturer:
Tetyana Filevska, Creative Director at the Ukrainian Institute, head of the Malevich Institute NGO.
With a background in art management, curation and writing, Tetyana Filevska is the Creative Director at the Ukrainian Institute and head of the Malevich Institute NGO. She has a record in Philosophy with experience in Contemporary art and Ukrainian Art History of the 20 century. Among others, Filevska is author of the books “KAZIMIR MALEVICH. Kyiv Period 1928-1930,” “Kazimir Malevich. Kyiv Aspect,” and “Dmytro Gorbachov. Sluchayi”. She is a creative producer of the documentary “Malevich. Born in Ukraine” (2018) and a fiction film “Malevich” (2024).
Lastly, Filevska curated the public programme for the Ukrainian Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale, dedicated to decolonization.
