With the release of Llama3.1 we are at an inflection point. Open source models are within striking range of the most powerful commercially available models today. While there is still likely a gap with the proprietary models not yet released by the large players, we'll spend our times thinking through implications of these powerful models in the near term.

AI is a great experiment of immense impact. We must steward its creation and application such that it benefits us all. Day by day we will create that future.
This monthly series focuses on AI Safety and its associated disciplines (e.g., AI governance & Policy, AI ethics, trustworthy AI, scalable oversight). We will dive deep into one topic each gathering, bringing our diverse perspectives together.
