Keynote & Debate: Dual-Use Technology for National Defence and Public Good
🚀 This fall, Schulich and Lassonde bring you a historic conversation at the intersection of innovation, national security, and entrepreneurship.
Rahul Goel, Founder & CEO of NordSpace and a former Schulich student, is on the brink of making Canadian history. In August, he and his team are set to launch Canada’s first-ever commercial rocket from Newfoundland — a mission fueled by over $10M he personally bootstrapped from his previous ventures. His story is one of grit, vision, and what it means to chase an “Apollo moment” for Canada.
The evening will open with Rahul’s keynote, sharing the journey of building NordSpace from scratch and his mission to redefine Canada’s role in space and dual-use technology.
Following the keynote will be a debate-style panel with leading voices in entrepreneurship, academia, and industry, tackling the question:
“What will it take for Canada to truly leverage the dual-use opportunity — for both national defence and public good?”
Featured Panelists:
Mark Maybank – Co-founder & Managing Partner, Maverix Private Equity. Veteran investor and entrepreneur with experience spanning tech, media, energy, and advanced manufacturing; former President & COO of Canaccord Genuity.
