About Event

The 8th annual Marketplace of the Future is a “World’s Fair” style expo showcasing innovative solutions to climate change. The event contains dozens of organizations that cover solutions across the five primary sources of greenhouse gas emissions: Energy, Transportation, Food and Agriculture, Buildings, and Industry, as well as education, advocacy, and conservation.

“MOTF” is a new take on the 1939 New York World’s Fair, which was dubbed “The World of Tomorrow” and featured new inventions such as the fluorescent light bulb, air-conditioning, and television. We aim to show climate solutions in the same light - novel now, normal soon.

Highlights:

  • Panel Discussions: Enjoy conversations covering a spectrum of topics from renewable infrastructure and climate communications. Featuring inspiring leaders like Seth Godin, orgs like Project Drawdown, and youth leaders like Queer Brown Vegan.

  • Exhibition Hall: Dozens of exhibitors creating solutions across the 5 sources of greenhouse gas emissions: Energy, Buildings, Transportation, Food & Agriculture, Industry.

  • Community Room: A special location within MOTF dedicated to community organizers, activists, and special practitioners. Featuring Wawa Gatheru, Black Girl Environmentalist, Zero Waste Workshops, and more.

  • Networking Opportunities: Engage a room of 1,500 peers, start-up professionals, designers, educators, students, and potential collaborators during our day-long event.

  • Live Music: The climate vibe will be elevated by smooth jazz being played all day and night.

  • Food and Drinks: The Marketplace of the Future strives to keep the vibes and camaraderie high. Enjoy an open bar with conscious alcoholic and non-alcoholic brands served in reusable cups.

  • Zero-Waste Stations: Marketplace of the Future is ensuring all of our waste is either reused, donated, recycled, or composted, sending little to nothing to landfill. Expect to find “circularity guides” at each waste station to help you sort and return your items properly.
