​Stephen Tio Kauma is a prominent professional in human resources and organizational transformation. He has held the position of Director and Global Head of Human Resources at the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) since 2015. Afreximbank's balance sheet stands at $30 billion.

​Kauma oversees HR strategies and initiatives supporting the bank's mission and objectives in this role. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Makerere University in Uganda. His career before joining Afreximbank included various managerial roles, where he gained extensive experience in human resources and organizational development.
