Family Shed - Responding to Feedback
WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?
This evening is about responding to feedback. Once you begin to take action, you’ll start getting feedback about whether you’re doing the right thing. You’ll get data, advice, help, suggestions, direction, and even criticism that will help you constantly adjust and move forward while continually enhancing your knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and relationships. But asking for feedback is really only the first part of the equation. Once you receive feedback, you have to be willing to respond to it.
HOW TO JOIN?
We host many events with larger numbers, but this event is limited to 20 people. This gives us a friendly atmosphere where everyone can ask questions, venture ideas, and maybe try some changes. Here is the link for tickets:

JOIN IF YOU
· Want a helping hand getting from where you are to where you want to be.
· Are willing to take 100% responsibility for yourself and your choices.
· Understand the only person you can control is yourself.
· Appreciate respect and courtesy while rejecting the insanity of both liberal and conservative extremism.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
This event is open to all ages. Bring your teenager or your grandparent, or let them bring you. Everyone is welcome.
The start time is 6:30 pm and that’s when we officially start. You’re welcome to show up as much as 30 minutes early. That’s strange in Toronto, I know. Arrive early, enjoy some refreshments, and chat a bit before we begin.
We start with a short (mostly gruff) intro talk followed by a couple group games to get relaxed and friendly. Then we start the presentation. Now, I know that word – presentation – makes it sound like an Amway meeting or something. You can relax. No one is going to sell you anything. It’s just that we start with some learning then we get into talking and sharing. So, presentation then Q&A, yes?
The presentation is by Rev. Conrad Hall. He is an international bestselling author, a Canfield Trainer, veteran, carpenter and welder, reverend (obviously), and was at The Second City for five years. He can get you laughing while he talks, and share some useful insights, too.
Responding to Feedback is material originally developed by Jack Canfield in The Success Principles. It’s tried and tested, proven to work. Join us as Rev. Conrad walks through the two types of feedback, how to (how to not) respond to feedback, and what may be the most valuable question you’ll ever learn.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
· Simple refreshments to relax while you chat
· An hour of discovery and personal development
· A second hour of conversation and exploration
· Access to the post-event WhatsApp group
· Supporting our mission to help veterans successfully handle transition to civilian life
WHERE IS IT?
For now, we’re hosting events steps away from the St. George St. entrance to St. George Subway Station. The precise location is provided once your spot is confirmed.
That said, we’re open to other locations. It just needs to be a place where we have a room to ourselves and it is easily accessible by TTC or GO.
QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE
Can I be late?
You are in control of your schedule. You decide whether you respect yourself, and others, enough to be on time.
Should I bring my children to this?
Only if you’re interested in having them grow into mature, responsible adults. Children under 12 are welcome free of charge. Young adults (12-29) are welcome with a ticket, and we encourage them to find a way of earning that ticket.
Something to keep in mind: If we have several children under 12, then Rev. Conrad will teach to those children. Every astute adult will hear the lesson and be able to apply it.
Can I bring my pet?
A service dog is always welcome. Pets, no. Let everyone there be your support people.
Can I get a refund if I’m unable to attend?
There are no refunds, or ticket transfers to another date, if you withdraw with less than two (2) days notice. Something comes up and you withdraw three (3) or more days in advance, we’re happy to refund your purchase or transfer your ticket to another date.
Should I have a copy of The Success Principles?
Well, it would certainly be useful. You can get a copy from Amazon and support Family Shed at the same time: https://amzn.to/43a3KDk
Or just get a copy from Amazon.
Come join the family.
