About Event

Dive into the cutting-edge world of quantum technologies and discover their profound impact on cybersecurity at our exclusive Lunch & Learn event at EY's office at the Stack.

Overview
Quantum technologies are advancing rapidly, with a growing consensus among industry experts that a commercially viable, full-stack, fault tolerant quantum computer will be available in five years.  This offers great opportunities for businesses to lock in competitive advantage and improved efficiencies, as well as offering solutions to health, environmental and materials problems that cannot be resolved with today’s most powerful, classical supercomputers.

Quantum advances also make the threat to network and data security posed by RSA being broken very real.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Quantum Computing Revolution: Gain insights into the transformative potential for data processing and problem-solving offered by quantum computing

  • Security Threats Uncovered: Get ahead of the curve by examining the implications of quantum computing on network and data security. Discover how the potential breaking of RSA encryption will reshape cybersecurity strategies.

  • Strategic Responses: Equip yourself with actionable insights and strategies to prepare for and mitigate the risks posed by quantum advancements.

Featured Speakers
Join us for an engaging panel discussion moderated by Mary Carmichael, President of ISACA Vancouver, with ample opportunity for audience Q&A.

Louise Turner,  CEO of the Quantum Algorithms Institute (QAI).  Louise will talk about the opportunities and threats posed by the advent of quantum computing, focusing on business challenges of preparing for the risks and opportunities of the nascent quantum industry sector.  Hands-on assistance is available through QAI's one-day course on Post-Quantum Readiness for Cyber Professionals and through industry projects to demonstrate early use of quantum solutions.

Michael Cavallin, Manager of Cybersecurity & Risk at BCI.  Michael Cavallin manages the cyber security and risk team at BCI, one of Canada’s largest institutional investors in the 'Maple 8'. Michael serves on several advisory boards for top global cyber security organizations and is passionate about advancing cyber security.
