Join us from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM EDT for "Scaling to $1B with a Lean Team," a not-to-be-missed chat featuring two speakers.

Speaker Bio:
Speaker 1:  Bohdan Zabawskyj has over 3 decades of experience in leading engineering teams from 2 to 500 people in both rapidly growing start-ups and large enterprises across a variety of domains including Health Tech, Fintech, E-Commerce, Telecom, Media, Marketplaces, & HR Tech. Bohdan has also led & contributed to numerous activities pertaining to a wide range of B2C/B2B/SaaS system development and deployment scenarios. Bohdan is also an active community organizer and contributor to the Canadian Technology ecosystem via not-for-profit and curated communities including TrueNorthCTO (with over 2,200 members across Canada).

Speaker 2: Vitalii Dodonov is the co-founder and CTO of Stan. His philosophy is that one engineer can build anything, and just 10 can create a billion-dollar company.

Currently, Stan employs 7 engineers, services 60K customers, and has reached $20M in ARR in just 2.5 years.

Speaker 3: Alex Cui is co-founder and CTO of GPTZero, the world’s leading platform for detecting AI-generated text. He believes in bringing people together to create an internet where authentic human content can thrive. Alex has also presented at Capitol Hill, Facebook’s Policy team, and the Department of State, about how we can use technology to counter disinformation and political polarization. Previously, he worked on a machine learning engineering team at Facebook, R&D at Uber’s self-driving division, and published in leading machine learning conferences on understanding how people interact.

Presentation Summary Per Speaker:

Bohdan:

Bohdan will provide a summary of key insights and themes he has observed in building world-class engineering teams across several domains – from engineering teams of 2 to 500 people in size. Bohdan will touch on process evolution, organizational values, strategic alignment, as well as the need for transparent communication channels within the engineering team and between stakeholders.

Vitalii:

It doesn't take a village to build a tech company.

Vitalii Dodonov's philosophy is that one engineer can build anything, and just 10 can create a billion-dollar company. As the co-founder and CTO of Stan, he uses the same principle to build his team. In just 2.5 years, Stan grew to service 60K customers and has reached $20M in ARR with only 7 engineers.

In his presentation, Vitalii will discuss his experience building a 10-person engineering team and how to start implementing the same principles as an early-stage founder.

Alex:

Are you still using Leetcode to interview engineers?

Evaluating the coding abilities of engineering applicants is hard. In his presentation, Alex will discuss how to design thoughtful technical assessments customized to the job description of the role to help you make better hiring decisions at scale, while simultaneously broadcasting to candidates the quality of engineering on your world class team.
