About Event

Children First Canada is excited to announce the inaugural flagship event, The Future is NOW Awards: Celebrating Canada’s Top 10 U18 Changemakers in Toronto on May 7, 2024.

Together with our Emcee, Omar Sachedina - Anchor of CTV News, Honourary Patron, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, and Honorary Co-Chairs, Peter MacKay and Nazanin Afshin-Jam, we invite you to join us in celebrating the accomplishments of diverse young Canadians who are championing change on the most pressing issues facing their generation.

The Future is NOW! will be like the Oscars – but powered for social impact – celebrating the bright lights and shining trailblazers who are striving to forge a better future for all Canadians within their lifetime.

Join us for a walk down the red carpet, with portraits captured by photographer-to-the-stars, George Pimentel, followed by a star-studded Reception and Awards Ceremony, with a gourmet meal and drinks.

We promise an evening of entertainment and celebration that will leave you with a sense of pride in what children across this country can do when we give them the tools, resources and opportunities.

Your generous support will help ensure that 10 youth receiving awards will have the chance to travel to Toronto for the event, and each will receive $1,000 in funding to support their social impact initiative, 1 year of mentorship and coaching to expand their impact, and other great prizes.

Tickets are going quickly, so be sure to book now to reserve your spot at this exclusive event!

ABOUT CHILDREN FIRST CANADA:

Children First Canada was launched with the ambitious vision that together we can make Canada the best place in the world for kids to grow up in. You may be surprised to learn that Canada now ranks 81st on the Global Kids Rights Index due to high rates of child poverty, poor mental health, racism and violence against children.

CFC is propelled by the urgent need to change children’s lives for the better. We are empowering, inspiring, and engaging 8 million children and providing youth with a platform to create ground-breaking and innovative solutions to effect change at a local and national level.
