About Event

​Young Designers in Tech grapple with transitioning into Design for Metaverse, especially with a lot of hype around the Metaverse. As part of the CMU T&E event series, this Panel Discussion provides a young professional with a guide to successfully Break into Design for Metaverse from the perspectives of Creative Design and Product Design.

Agenda:

5:00-6:00 pm PDT: Panel Discussion + Q&A

We will explore a few actionable insights for getting into Design for Metaverse from the journies of a Creative Design Lead at a startup co-founded by another CMU alumnus and a Product Design Lead within Reality Labs at Meta. We will also open the floor with questions from the Audience!

About the Panel Speakers:

  1. So-Hee Woo, (linkedin.com/in/soheewoo/) is the Head of XR Design at Encore. Prior to Encore, she was a VR/MR Design Intern at Microsoft, an Industrial Designer at Daedalus, and a Product/Industrial Design Intern at IDEO. So-Hee holds a BFA. in Industrial & Product Design from Carnegie Mellon University, an MS from ArtCenter College of Design, and an MBA from Claremont Graduate University.

  2. Lois Yang, (linkedin.com/in/loisyangly/) is a Product Designer for Reality Labs at Meta. Prior to Meta, she was a Co-Founder & Designer for Tiny Apps, a Product Design Intern at 4moms, and a User Experience Design Intern at Medidata Solutions. Lois received BS in Information Systems & HCI and a minor in Media Design with University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University.

The Panel Discussion will be moderated by:

  • Susan Park, (linkedin.com/in/susansoeun/) is a UX Designer for Chrome at Google. Prior to Google, she was a Senior Product Designer at Gladly, Co-Founder of Standstill Tea, a Creative for Buddha Bing. She also did Product & Design for FreeSkies and was a UX Designer at eBay. She holds a BS in Design and Visual Communications, Human-Computer Interaction & Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
