About Event

Join ReadMe’s Solutions Architect, Erdman, and Ray from ReadMe’s product team for a hands-on workshop where they’ll dive into the details of ReadMe's latest MDX feature—Custom Components!

Now, in addition to using ReadMe's pre-built MDX components in Guides and API Reference pages in your project, you can build your own using a mix of JSX and React, plus add styling thanks to Tailwind CSS to create beautiful, responsive designs right out of the box. Custom components are a great way to make your docs more engaging, consistent, and developer-friendly!

What this workshop will cover:

🌈 An overview of MDX and how it blends Markdown and JSX.

🪜 A step-by-step walkthrough of how to build a custom Stepper component using MDX, from start to finish.

🛍️ A tour of ReadMe’s component marketplace on GitHub, with a selection of new components ready to copy and paste into your project!

🙋 A live Q&A with some of the team members who built this feature.

Since this workshop is interactive, we highly recommend joining with your laptop so that you can build the stepper component step-by-step (pun intended!) while Erdman builds it live.

🔔 A prerequisite for building a custom component is that your project must be on the new, Refactored experience. If you haven’t upgraded your project yet, and are eligible to, you’ll need to upgrade in order to get access to this feature.
