Eagle Bluff Hike

​Join VanCity Connect for a social hike to Eagle Bluffs via the Black Mountain Trail — one of the most rewarding moderate hikes in the Vancouver area. This is a free community event designed for anyone who wants to get outside, meet new people, and enjoy a relaxed yet energizing workout in nature.

​Eagle Bluffs is a scenic 8-kilometre round-trip trail located in Cypress Provincial Park. With around 435 meters of elevation gain, the hike begins with a steady uphill climb alongside the ski runs before transitioning into gentler terrain through subalpine forests, peaceful lakes, and open ridges. Along the way, we’ll pass by Black Mountain summit and Cabin Lake, with the final reward being the sweeping views from Eagle Bluffs. On a clear day, you’ll see everything from Bowen Island and Horseshoe Bay to downtown Vancouver, UBC, and even Mount Baker in the distance.

​We’ll be keeping the pace social and chill — this isn’t a race. Expect plenty of time to talk, take breaks, snap group photos, and soak in the views. It’s a great way to make new friends while getting a decent workout in a beautiful setting.

​Please bring plenty of water, and wear comfortable runner shoes with good grip. Trail runners or hiking shoes are ideal, but solid athletic shoes will do just fine. A power bank is optional, but always a good idea if you plan to take photos or track the route. Light snacks, sun protection, and layers for changing weather are also recommended.

​The event is free to join, and all are welcome. Whether you’re new to hiking or just want to get outdoors with good company, this is the perfect weekend escape without leaving the city far behind.
