National Oyster Day at Lillie Coit's
Tuesday, August 5 | 4 PM to 1AM
Regular Food & Beverage served until 1 AM

We've been serving oysters since day one. Not just as a menu item, but as a ritual. A cold plate, a splash of bubbles, something to kick things off or close out a night. On August 5, we’re marking Oyster Day at Lillie Coit's the only way we know how: by trying to shuck and serve 2,000 oysters in a single night. If we hit it, it’ll be our biggest day ever.

Oyster Day is a bit of a strange holiday. No parades, no cards. Just a quiet nod to one of the most iconic things you can eat. Oysters have been part of coastal culture for thousands of years. San Francisco used to be full of oyster saloons and shell piles. We’re trying to bring a little of that back. A place you can walk into on a Tuesday at 11 PM and still get a dozen oysters and a glass of something cold. A place that doesn’t shut down early.

That’s why we serve food until 1 AM. Why there’s always house cava ready to pour while you wait on your drink. Why, after 10 PM, we double your oyster order for free: we call it the Oyster Jubilee. Buy six, get six. It’s our favorite part of the night.

Oyster Day Jubilee pricing (all day and night)

Every oyster is two bucks from the first platter to the last. One of those dollars heads straight to the Wild Oyster Project, funding the oyster “Base Camp” hanging off the Dolphin Club dock in Aquatic Park, where recycled shells turn into new reefs for native Olympia oysters.

The oyster leaderboard resets

At 4 PM the Oyster Leaderboard flips back to zero and the 2025-26 season starts. Order as many or as few as you like—just know that bragging rights for the year are on the line.

So if you’ve got time on August 5, swing by. Bring a friend. Start with six. See how far you get. Help us hit 2,000. We’ll be counting.
