About Event

Join us at Hi-Note Radio Bar in Manhattan on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 for a night of cocktails and ethics debates!

We have been working hard on our white paper, Beyond Bias and Compliance: Towards Individual Agency and Plurality of Ethics in AI, supported by a grant from the University of Notre Dame-IBM Tech Ethics Lab (https://techethicslab.nd.edu/call-for-proposals/2021-cfp/).

An excerpt: “AI ethics is an emerging field, with multiple, competing narratives about how to best “solve the problem”. Two major approaches are focused on bias and compliance, respectively. But neither of these ideas fully encompasses ethics: using moral principles to decide how to act in a particular situation. This white paper proposes a new approach to AI ethics, a method that empowers many more than the current market.”

It’s high time to share our ideas, celebrate finishing the document, and discuss the future of AI ethics…

The evening will include:

  • a radio show-style fireside chat

  • cocktails

  • debates🌶️

The event is for:

  • The AI startup community based in NYC, especially young companies seeking an alternative to the current offerings of AI ethics on the market.

  • Independent investors and venture capitalists seeking to learn more about the space and hear a new solution to a pressing issue.

  • Finally, all those pre-readers who left spicy comments, this is the time to come together, say hello, and get some answers 😉

At daios (https://www.daios.tech), we believe there’s a better way to incorporate human values into AI systems. That’s why we’re building a new system to help development teams translate ethical values from end users into the machine learning data pipeline. The daios platform empowers end users, allowing them to directly impact machine learning systems and, as a result, helps build AI that’s good for everyone involved.
