About Event

Dual Use Innovation Day (May 9, 2025 at MIT) is an invitation-only gathering of senior leaders, academic researchers, investors, and industry partners to showcase breakthrough dual-use innovations developed by MIT students. The event’s mission is to highlight technologies serving both military and civilian needs across aerospace, autonomous systems, construction technology, AI, and robotics.

Participants will explore cutting-edge projects spanning these domains. Highlights include MIT HAUS initiative in advanced construction, anomaly detection and wildfire monitoring tools developed through MIx collaborations with Nominal and Picogrid, and pioneering counter-air and maritime solutions from the UAx and UUx teams in the SOCOM-MIT course 15.362/6.9160. The day concludes with the SOCOM-MIT Iron Man Award – a nod to MIT’s own legendary tech alumnus – leaving attendees inspired by a future where bold innovation bridges the gap between civilian and defense sectors.

Dual Use Innovation Day is presented by MIT Mission Innovation X.
