"Metadata Lakes for Next-Gen AI/ML"
Lisa Cao, Product Manager @ Datastrato
As data catalogs evolve to meet the growing and new demands of high velocity, unstructured data, we see them taking new shape as an emergent and flexible way to activate metadata for multiple uses. This talk discusses modern uses of metadata at the infrastructure level for AI-enablement in RAG pipelines in response to the new demands of the ecosystem. We will also be discussing Apache (incubating) Gravitino and it's open source-first approach to data cataloging across multicloud and geo-distributed architectures.
"Unleashing Generative AI in Real-Time with Apache Pulsar"
Neng Lu, Director of Platform @ StreamNative
Generative AI is revolutionizing various industries by automating creative processes, enhancing predictive analytics, and enabling sophisticated decision-making capabilities. It is pushing the boundaries of what machines can achieve.
Apache Pulsar, a cloud-native, distributed messaging and streaming platform designed for low-latency and high-throughput scenarios. Pulsar’s unique architecture allows for seamless scalability and efficient resource utilization, making it an ideal choice for real-time applications.
The convergence of Generative AI and Apache Pulsar brings forth unprecedented opportunities. By leveraging Pulsar, we can deploy real-time pipelines to enable instant data processing, dynamic content creation, and rapid response to changing data streams for GenAI use cases.
In this talk, we will go through some of the fundamental concepts in both worlds. We'll also discuss the integration of these technologies to drive innovation and efficiency within your organization.
"Help, My Connector has a mind of its own!"
Greg Harris, Staff Software Engineer @ Aiven
Like a poorly trained pet, Connect sometimes doesn't listen to commands. Have you ever tried to change a configuration on a dedicated MirrorMaker 2 cluster, and still seen the old configuration appear in the logs? Or updated the credentials for your connector, but Connect still refuses to restart tasks using the old credential? These are everyday occurrences for many Connect operators, and have been for years. To cope with it, most operators have resorted to applying an ancient IT strategy: Turn it off and back on again. But that only provides temporary relief, you and everyone else will have the same problem again until it's fixed upstream. We'll hear stories of Connect and MM2, operators' sleepless nights, and the upstream fixes that saved the day. However, there are still bugs out there that need your reports and contributions, so learn what to look for, and how to get involved!
