Building confidence and strengths
Event information
Workshop Audience:
Academics and researchers of all career stages.
Outline:
Do you feel that you would like to increase your confidence to take that next step in your career? Do you wish you could be more assertive at work? In this workshop we create a space in which to explore how we can build confidence, self-awareness and understanding of our strengths.
In order to build confidence, first we explore the elements that contribute to our confidence, including self efficacy, self-regard and our core strengths. We will consider where we can draw on our strengths to help build our confidence. Drawing on our own experiences, we will also address the challenges of being assertive and (hypothetically) tackle a situation in which we would like to be more assertive.
In this workshop participants will:
• Explore different facets of confidence, from self efficacy to self-regard
• Identify our core strengths, and consider where we might be able to use them further
• Consider strategies for situations where we would like to be assertive
• Work collaboratively in a supportive and constructive environment
