About Event

Join us in the online launch for the ‘Return to Self’ Guided Journal Workbook. The gathering is a celebration of the first journal workbook from The Easeful Place. Through the event and the digital journal we’ll welcome ourselves with acceptance, self-remembering, and compassion as part of the eternal homecoming of being who we came here to be.

Created by poet-essayist, author, and mindfulness advocate Amara Amaryah, this journal workbook is an invitation for realignment, recentering, and knowing the river that is self-kindness will lead you toward the wider ocean of collective wellness. It is designed for newbies and life-long journalers alike, open to intentional prompts and journalling practices for deeper self-listening.

This is an offering from The Easeful Place, a community and resource for creative souls. We cannot wait to welcome and gather with you.

What to bring::

  • Your curiosity, your honesty, your excitement as you journal along to these curated prompts.

  • You should also bring whatever you like to journal with and anything that puts you in a space of ease.

Why you’ll enjoy journaling with strangers (more than you think)::

  • Imagine, you enter the online room and are met with warmth, a meditation, opportunity to connect and learn from people from parts of the world you haven’t yet visited, wisdoms you write in your journal for later, laughter, honesty, a playlist curated for your ease, and suddenly it feels like we’re all in the same sandalwood incensed room sharing space and encouraging words with each other. It’s easy to forget we’re all just strangers on a journey together.

  • When we write and share together we become conscious of how similar we are, how similar our dreams and visions are for the world, and therefore how connected and not alone we are. It also works in reverse. Sometimes we share and notice our uniqueness and that is a divine reminder of our heart’s work. Everything and everyone is a mirror and these events shine some clarity on that.

  • Vulnerability and sharing what we know, question, or are working through can also be a remedy. When we unravel ourselves in public, we make it possible for others to hold us and to also unravel by our side. This is the role of mindful community. When done intentionally, we can dismantle the fear of being truly seen and restore intimacy as acts of showing up with and for one another.

If you need some extra assurance to believe that this level of intimacy really can exist virtually, check out what others have said below.

What others have said about past events::

Thanks for providing such a beautiful and healing space for writing and inner-reflection. The positive energy was felt in abundance even though it was an online session and participants joined from across the globe, this is an attribute to the type and quality of the space Amara Amaryah curated and facilitated.

  • Attendee to the ‘Enoughness & Lessons from Black Women’s Writing’ workshop

It was a lovely space, such beautiful community. I felt safe enough to share my truth, not every space is so welcoming.

  • Attendee to the ‘Winter Solstice: Attuning to the Darkness through Rest’ workshop

Thank you for holding this lovely space for us today. It was so good to be in community with others processing our need for rest and taking up that invitation this solstice. Looking forward to sharing space with you again soon

Thank you to Amara for your wonderful workshop today! It was beautiful and really helped me get out of a writing/creative slump I have been in for a while. I can’t wait to see what I make after I let your teachings marinate in my mind for a while <3
