About Event

In celebration of NYCxDESIGN, an annual city-wide celebration that fuels New York City and enriches the world, this year, Splashlight Studios is partnering with GFX, IRK Magazine, and Future Meets Present to host a conversation about the role of design and wellness in achieving climate goals - specifically: living a 1.5-degree lifestyle.

Hosted at the beautiful Splashlight Studio in Tribeca, this event will include music, drinks, and a panel conversation that explores both, the individual actions as well as systemic changes required to achieve this goal.

We will serve light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks before the panel discussion and wine after.

Who should attend? Anyone who is seeking to demystify climate solutions including:

  • Entrepreneurs

  • Designers

  • Students

  • Artists

  • Engineers

Speakers:

Sophie Bensamou
VP Creation Fine Fragrance North America at Symrise

Symrise is a global leader in the flavor and fragrance industry. They're taking meaningful climate action by using renewable materials, and implementing emissions reduction strategies across scopes 1 and 2, aligned with global standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). We'll learn how Symrise aims to leverage its resources and emerging technologies for even greater climate action in such a pivotal time.

Justin Wolff
CEO of Junk Theory

In 2023, Justin launched his second brand, JunkTheory, which aims to end the plastic era in beauty – a category that produces over 100 billion pieces of plastic packaging per year. Clean skincare, he believes, should start with healthy formulas, but must also consider what those formulas come packaged in. JunkTheory is the first clean skincare line where nothing goes in the trash, and everything is packaged in metal – the most recycled material on earth.
