About Event

Welcome to our new series, "UX Uncensored: No BS, Just Real-World Skills" brought to you by ADPList Mentors in NYC!

This series is designed to empower aspiring and early-career UX designers with the essential skills, knowledge, and strategies to navigate the job market and build successful careers. Expect expert insights, practical advice, interactive learning, and network opportunities throughout these events.

In this first session, we will:

  • Learn what makes a UX design resume stand out and how to tailor it for specific job applications.

  • Understand the importance of a strong portfolio and how to effectively showcase your work.

  • Gain insights into the perspectives of recruiters and hiring managers.

  • Learn how to infuse your unique brand and personality into your application materials.

The first session is in collaboration with the School of Visual Arts (SVA). There is limited availability, so register fast!

If you register and are unable to make it in person, please cancel your registration to let others have an opportunity. No-shows might result in exclusion from future sessions as these sessions will build on one another.

Shivam Gupta, UX Designer
Shivam (She-vum) is a UX Designer at Google with a passion for creating products that tell stories. With 9+ years of combined design and development experience, he brings a unique perspective to creating user-centric solutions. Joe Cahill, Creative Executive Lead in UX & Design
With 20+ years of experience, an infectious smile, and a big presence, Joe Cahill is one of the most passionate designers you will meet. His experience has led him to successfully design and build products across a range of industries, and has also helped many Fortune 50 teams restructure their product development team operations to successfully create and deploy products more effectively. His passion for the customer and excitement for design has left a rippling impact on the industry, and he continues to spend his time learning about how people experience, interact with and use digital products in this constantly evolving industry.

Nara Thada, Creative Director
Currently, at 🦊 RedWolf Labs as the Creative Director, I help startups with their branding, creating branded templates for decks, ads, websites, and marketing collateral. (As well) At 🌏 ADPList as a Design Mentor, I mentor global designers and helped organize events for the NY and global design community. My 🧡 Passions are “Boba” My Cat, Biking, Boxing, Exploring Music, Hiking, Hosting Events, Mentorship, Oil Pastel & Digital Illustration, Surfing, and Traveling! Let’s connect on LinkedIn!

Jamon Sin, Art director/ Visual designer
Jamon is an art director and visual designer working out of Brooklyn, New York. He has worked for non-profits, at a startup, in nimble studio environments, and for an advertising behemoth. At the core, Jamon appreciates craft, honesty, simplicity, and most importantly, for something to evoke an emotion. He values having a visual mindset where there's always meaning and intention behind it.
