About Event

Let's read and learn how to change the world! Our book this summer is "Blueprint for Revolution" by Srdja Popovic.

Popovic shares how to build a powerful, nonviolent cultural movement. The book is a "handbook for anyone who wants to effectively (and peacefully) improve your neighborhood, make a difference in your community, or change the world." His secret? Humor.

Even if you haven't finished the book, please still come! Just the first three chapters provide plenty of food for thought.

How this relates to climate: Managing pollution is a grassroots issue opposed by powerful special interests. Let's study Popovic's techniques for grassroots reorganization of power structures.

We'll meet outside, near the Montlake Cut, here-ish: https://maps.app.goo.gl/9ReUVsSnZ8A9khhP7. I'll have a big red, white, and blue picnic blanket and I'll sit within view of Walla Walla Lane. We'll split up into small groups and provide a few questions to get the discussion started. If it's a success, we might also pick a new book for this fall!
