Pen to Paper: Rooted in Place
General event description here.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the art of scene-setting through the lens of natural spaces and the world around us. Whether it’s a lush paradise, an abandoned city lot, or a single potted plant on a cluttered windowsill, organic materials are rich with sensory details that bring your writing to life. We'll start with a grounding meditation to conjure vivid imagery and sensory language. Then, we’ll move into playful yet challenging exercises where you’ll create immersive settings and stories.
Whether you’re looking to shake up an existing creative practice or seek inspiration to further your writing, this class will give you a deeper understanding of how a setting can shape mood, tone, and character.
This workshop will be a safe space for creative expression without judgment. We will have ample opportunity to share work or personal experiences to explore vulnerability, language, humor, poetry, and storytelling.
Bring a journal, pen, and curiosity for the unwritten!
