About Event

** This is a LIVE workshop. Attendees will be sent a video recording after the workshop. **

What makes a piece of writing come alive? How can you sharpen voice, deepen character, and show instead of tell without losing your own style?

Led by editorial consultant Faiza S Khan, with her extensive experience guiding authors toward their best work, this interactive workshop invites participants to share short pieces of writing for immediate, constructive feedback.

You’ll see how live, in-the-moment editorial guidance can transform a piece, whether it’s your own or a fellow participant’s, and leave with practical insights you can apply to any future work.

We’ll explore:

  • How to strengthen perspective and voice

  • Techniques for deepening character

  • Practical strategies for showing, not telling

  • Editorial approaches to style, substance, and storytelling

  • How to give and receive constructive feedback

Pre-session prompt and preparation: Bring up to 300 words inspired by a childhood photograph (you don’t need to share the photo)
